Carmistin implements Charisma for Agriculture
The chicken products can be registered directly in the inventory in Charisma, obtaining a total traceability of every chicken lot in the slaughter house. Because tens of products can result from a chicken, the traceability is extremely important for a clear image of production in accordance with the request.
Company
Currently, Carmistin is one of the most important traders in the meat industry and the leader of the strongest business group in the food industry. Most of the meat delivered by the company comes from animals raised in the farms pertaining to their own group of firms.
In the company’s portfolio, there are several divisions with a great success on the market.
Avicarvil, the chicken farms “La Provincia” that took over the biggest chicken platform in Romania is now the first chicken farm operating with green energy.
Pajo Holding, a key player in the livestock segment, known for cattle and bull breeding in the standards of a bio business but also for fodder production, 5 modern livestock collection and trading centres as well as 2000 Ha agricultural land.
Ladrisi is a modern and renovated slaughter house located in Ceptura, with a capacity of 3100 tons of meat a year. It also has a new Agriculture division (specialized in grain, pesticides and seed trade) with an important holistic engine aiming to increase the group’s business.
Challenge
One of the major challenges a company like Carmistin has to face is the possibility to make a decision positively influencing all the business lines. The requirements, as opposed to the system’s functionalities, are extremely important because they need to cover different livestock flows in detail (raising chickens, cattle and taurine), slaughter and vegetal production also.
In order to manage the financial-accounting activity of all the business lines and to integrate the production and distribution activity, Carmistin had to choose among several software solutions. Charisma for Agriculture, with its ERP, SFA, BI, HCM components and Production Module specific to slaughter houses, was preferred to other international software solutions.
TotalSoft’s system was chosen due to its experience in the agricultural industry, as well as to the production in flow, a system successfully implemented and used by the sausages producer Caroli Prod.
Solution
An important component of Charisma is the production module which tracks all the stages of the production process. The bird slaughter house is different from the classical one that cuts and processes cattle and sheep, due to the operation flow and especially to the speed operations are performed with. In order to register a big volume of operations, an interface for a touchscreen computer was developed. A human operator checks the data in the Production and Inventory module. Essential conditions to have an interface in line with Carmistin’s activity were the scale integration, user-friendliness and an extremely high performance to allow saving the data immediately.
Furthermore, a functionality developed within the project was the production costs calculation with direct and indirect expenditures in each department. After integrating the scales in the production process, the products resulted during the production process can be registered directly using the scale.
Thus, the chicken products can be registered directly in the inventory in Charisma, obtaining a total traceability of every chicken lot in the slaughter house.
