Metaplast and Nicprem Companies are part of the MEN Industry Group Romania and have over 30 years of experience in the production of plastic parts for the automotive and major appliances industries. Among Metaplast's clients are global car brands with factories in Europe, India, Algeria, Morocco, Brazil, and Colombia. In Romania, Metaplast has 1600 employees and owns two factories in Bucharest and Titu, with plans to open a new factory near Pitesti soon.
Metaplast currently works with over 150 injection molding machines and utilizes special technologies such as bi-component injection, gas injection, ultrasonic or vibration welding, and decoration technologies including hot stamping, in-mold decoration, and insert molding. Metaplast's portfolio also includes activities such as mold production, design services, and laboratory testing.
Challenges
The collaboration between Metaplast and TotalSoft began in 2011 when the manufacturer was at a turning point and needed a scalable and mature ERP platform capable of supporting a rapidly growing business. At that time, Metaplast used paper forms or at most Excel for electronic management of all business processes. As a result, information was not centralized, and business performance analysis was delayed.
In choosing a solution, Metaplast took into account its need to digitize production processes through a rapid implementation, but above all, to be able to quickly reconfigure the production application based on new requirements and business processes.
Solution
Charisma ERP best met Metaplast's requirements, and market references played an important role in the decision. "

Initially, Charisma ERP digitized the core financial and accounting processes, and gradually improved all areas of the business, especially the production area. The project continued with multiple configuration stages to cover additional functionalities requested by Metaplast, including human resources management, warehouse management, management reports (BI), and cash flow.
Currently, Metaplast has integrated all production, inventory, logistics, and financial accounting processes, and has achieved cost tracking and profitability analysis in an analytical and easily controlled manner.
The flexibility of Charisma ERP is the application's strong point, allowing easy configuration based on the specific needs of the business. Over the years, the rapid growth of Metaplast's business has been supported by new modules and functionalities developed together with strong multinational partners. This ensures that all business processes are managed according to top international standards. Results
The results were immediately visible to the solution users. Firstly, by implementing the Charisma solution, internal response times for all processes were optimized, made possible by the integrated and centralized access to information in a single database by all relevant parties. Secondly, a radical improvement was observed in the main KPIs monitored by Metaplast:
• In the logistics and procurement activities, all records are done online, in real-time, and in an easily verifiable manner with the help of the WMS solution for warehouse management. This represents a major change compared to the previous period when records were made retroactively and information was not in real-time, with documents being recorded days later.
• The calculation process for the procurement of raw materials, auxiliary materials, and packaging is much faster with the help of the MRP functionality in Charisma.
• By integrating electronic documents into EDI, orders and delivery notes with suppliers or customers are registered online, in real-time, compared to the previous period when this process took several days through manual operations.
• Production launch is muchfaster through the optimization of production order generation activities and integrated material requirement calculation with WMS, the warehouse management solution.
• Production reporting is done very quickly using barcode readers.
• Production and delivery/logistics managers have access to up-to-date data on short and medium-term deliveries and available stock for these deliveries. The delivery process is done online based on accurate data, eliminating sales disruptions caused by the lack of finished products in stock.
• Financial activities are easily managed using the cash flow module, which provides the necessary support in controlling the cash flow within the company and predicts future developments.
• Preventive tools provided by alerts set according to various operational events give management additional control over the business.
• The HR department manages complete human resources processes - recruitment, personnel administration, training, timekeeping collection, salary calculation, reporting to authorities, and consolidated business intelligence reports, with the help of the Charisma HCM solution.
